Our volunteers launched our Atlantic 85 at the request of UK Coastguard. National Coastwatch Institution – Porthcawl had been monitoring a group of four Stand Up Paddleboarders and were concerned for some of the group who appeared to be showing signs of fatigue as they battled against wind and tide approximately 200m off Newton Point.

The Atlantic 85 arrived on scene to find the group had made some progress into the shore. Whilst they were all happy to continue unassisted one of the group welcomed the opportunity for a lift as she was getting particularly tired. She was brought onboard along with her boyfriend, both of whom were dropped back onto the beach at Sandy Bay.Â
