Our volunteers launched both our lifeboats on service to reports of 2 persons cut off by the tide near Temple Bay at Southerndown. Several 999 calls were made to Milford Haven Coastguard by concerned members of the public to report the incident. The casualties were reported to be making their way up the cliff. On arrival of the lifeboats the casualties made their way down onto the pebble beach beneath the cliffs. The D Class lifeboat veered back on its anchor line to extract the casualties. The casualties were then transferred onto the larger Atlantic 85 lifeboat and taken back to Porthcawl as swell conditions were too large at Southerndown slipway to safely land the casualties. Casualties were transferred back to their car at Southerndown by Llantwit Major Coastguard team who also attended the incident.
