UK Coastguard requested the launch of Porthcawl Lifeboat following a report from National Coastwatch Institution – Porthcawl of multiple fenders floating off Porthcawl. The fenders were of the type usually used to protect a boat. Once on scene the lifeboat established the fenders were being used to mark lobster pots and there was no cause for concern. The lifeboat was stood down and returned to station where it was refueled and made ready for service.
