The Atlantic 85 and D Class lifeboats were both launched at the request of UK Coastguard following a report of a person in the water at the mouth of the river Ogmore.

An extensive search of the area was conducted along with Llantwit Major Coastguard.

A large amount of debris and logs were noted during the search and it was believed the report of a person was actually a large log. The search area was fully saturated by the various units and our lifeboats were eventually stood down with the call being a false good intent.

If you spot something on the coast that causes you concern never be afraid to call UK Coastguard to report it on 999.
