UK Coastguard tasked our volunteer crew to a report of a person cut off by the tide south east  of Witches Point. Both the Atlantic 85 and D Class lifeboats were launched on service and conducted a search of the area along with Llantwit Major Coastguard and Coastguard Helicopter 187 which was returning to its base at St Athan. A loan hiker was spotted at the top of the cliff face ladder and it was established he had been the person on the beach but was safe and well and required no further assistance. All search assets were stood down and returned to their bases/stations.
