Tasked by UK Coastguard immediately following previous incident to investigate a group of people cut off by the tide at Dunraven Bay, Southerndown. With tide nearing high water and no immediate danger to the group the tasking was to check on their welfare and intentions. Once on scene at Dunraven Bay a crew member swam ashore and was able to confirm the group had been caught out by the tide but were happy to wait until the tide went out and therefore did not require rescuing. The lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.

This summer we urge you to visit a lifeguarded beach and be beach safe. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic our RNLI Lifeguard colleagues are only patrolling the following local beaches: Rest Bay, Sandy Bay (Coney Beach), Trecco Bay, Ogmore, Whitmore Bay (Barry Island).

In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
