Our volunteer crew were tasked by UK Coastguard to assist a casualty who had fallen from a horse close to the waters edge near the Ogmore river mouth. Our crew were first to arrive on scene onboard the charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat and provided casualty care, treating for possible spinal injuries until further assistance arrived. When our colleagues from Porthcawl Coastguard Team arrived at the location we worked together to move the casualty up the beach away from the incoming tide which was becoming a threat. Shortly after medics onboard the Wales Air Ambulance arrived on scene and took over care for the casualty.

The casualty was flown to hospital for further checks and we wish the casualty a full and speedy recovery.
